Axelris Technologies
Meet the people leading Axelris Technologies. Ib Knudsen brings an international business background to the company’s direction. Hamza Khan’s work in security operations informs its technical approach.
Founder and Chief Executive Officer
Ib Knudsen is Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Axelris Technologies. He leads the company’s direction and business development, with responsibility for international growth.
His career includes work with Danmark Protein A/S (Arla Foods Ingredients) in Denmark and Japan, as well as Dan Software International A/S (Maersk IT). His work with Progressus Consulting Group International adds experience in business and technology consulting.
That background gives him a business perspective on IT and security. In the food ingredient industry, an interrupted system can affect an order or access to production records. Such dependencies matter when deciding which systems need attention and how support should be arranged.
At Axelris Technologies, Ib’s focus is on helping organizations use technology to support their work and build a distinct competitive advantage. His approach to cybersecurity starts with reducing exposure, while allowing for the response and recovery work an incident may require.
Education is also part of the company’s offering. Axelris Technologies Academy provides self-paced online cybersecurity courses for professionals and teams, with options for beginners and learners who already have security knowledge.
Chief Technology Officer
Hamza Khan is Chief Technology Officer at Axelris Technologies. His background includes building security monitoring systems and investigating suspicious activity. A particular focus is automation that helps analysts assess alerts without repeating the same manual checks.
His work with Calian Group includes security operations built on the Elastic Stack. He brings logs into the monitoring system, writes detection rules and deploys endpoint protection. He also searches for signs of threats that may not have triggered an alert.
Hamza has built workflows that gather information about suspicious activity, create incident tickets and support response actions such as IP blocking. His experience includes AI-supported automation using MCP servers and n8n.
Previously, at Canadian managed security services provider Yottabyte, he contributed to detection engineering and threat hunting. He supported incident response across several endpoint security platforms as part of the wider team.
His consulting work with Optima Technologies Global included incident response and disaster recovery plans, together with data breach response procedures. His policy work addressed requirements associated with HIPAA, GDPR and PCI DSS. Earlier experience at the Special Communication Organization included IBM QRadar in a working security operations center.
Hamza holds a degree in Electrical Engineering with a focus on Telecommunications from NUST. His qualifications include CEH v13, CompTIA Security+ and eJPT v2, with further training in Elastic security tools and threat hunting.
